Up To 10 People Shot, 2 Dead In Miami Shooting

The Miami Herald

MIAMI — As many as 10 people were shot early Tuesday morning outside a Miami apartment building, according to Miami police.

Two people died in the shooting, Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said.

One of the wounded victims was a 17-year-old girl.

Up to seven of the wounded were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where several victims were undergoing surgery.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. at Northwest 12th Avenue and 65th Street in Miami’s Liberty City section. Northwest 12th Avenue was shut down Tuesday morning between 65th and 67th streets as investigators combed the crime scene.

About 50 bullet casings were found along the ground and on the walls of the apartment building.

Police are asking for help with information on the case and in identifying any suspects.

“We are not going to speculate,” Burden said.
